6th ETNOFILm Festival in Rovinj, Croatia
The start of the ETNOFILm Festival in 2009 was associated with the turn that the Ethnographic Museum of Istria made towards using film methods in documenting intangible heritage. However, a festival born out of this turn towards using film, continued to live an independent life of its own. It was not necessarily tied to intangible heritage and documentation in the narrowest sense any more, but opened up towards a contemporary, broad spectrum of subjects, towards the ethnography of today, socially relevant issues and a generally critical approach to questioning global, as well as local cultural phenomena.
