Astra Film Festival, Romania’s leading documentary festival is hosted by the city of Sibiu from 17 to 23 October, 2016. It is the beating heart for the international and regional annual production. Through its special focus, it is the place to feel the pulse of documentary film production in the ex-Eastern European Block, and new Romanian productions as well, to meet fellow-filmmakers from around the world, debate upon major issues faced by documentarists while exposing real life and real people on the big screen, and interact with professionals and with an enthusiastic audience.
Astra Film Festival regards documentary cinema in the forefront in the process of exploring human condition through cinema. As a mind broadening medium, the festival values documentaries that expose human reality with a deep involvement of the filmmakers in exploring relevant themes and ways in which people deal with them at a personal level and/or as communities.
ASTRA FILM FESTIVAL 2016 will take place between 17. and 23. October, in Sibiu, Romania.
